With an excellent 2K, 240Hz display on offer powered by an Nvidia RTX 4080, the M16 is a gaming laptop that doesn’t make compromises on its non-upgradeable hardware. Users, however, might be expecting more in terms of SSD storage and RAM for a laptop that sells at about $2000, but the M16 does allow for easy access to its expansion slots and upgrades are simple to do thanks to dropping DRAM and flash memory costs across the board. The Alienware laptop offers excellent cooling and build quality along with plenty of connectivity options for users looking for a gaming laptop that can pass as a business unit while offering significant processing power under the hood.
It was far more complicated than that. So the methods of which MoCap is captured have changed significantly in the last nine years, almost as much as game engines have changed. We are very fortunate at Raven to have a Mocap studio on site as well as facial capture and a lot of other technologies that help us punch this. I won’t say that we weren’t able to use any of the animation data, because i believe that we used a lot of it and then added detail and more natural movement to scenes, but we did a lot of new MoCap. Some scenes we just couldn’t get the data to line up right and the timing felt off, and it wasn’t because we changed the timing it’s because the systems had fundamentally changed and we needed to make sure that that still felt right. So our animation team and our MoCap team have done a ton of work and we’re very proud of that work. So yeah I would say it wasn’t an easy thing to just take it and ‘copy and paste’ it and you’re good. There was definitely a lot of time put into that.
It is absolutely a modern classic. I think everyone can agree that some of their most fun memories in recent years has been in Call of Duty 4. That game, to me, as a fan, was the one that really introduced what cinematic, first-person action was all about. The characters were memorable, and the situations were exhilarating. To bring that to current-gen technology has been a tremendous experience to witness, and I think the fans are going to absolutely love it. There might be some who have never played it before, and so being able to play it in this fashion is going to be really exciting.
