Most leveling guides you’ll read on the internet will recommend that you skip every side quest in Lost Ark. And they’re right, mostly. Side quests give pitiful XP and rewards in the KR and RU versions of Lost Ark, but Smilegate made some small reward changes in the NA/EU version.

If you’ve got the space for a fifth Engraving (you won’t at the start, check out our Engravings guide if you need more info on that) then grab the other Sharpshooter class Engraving, Loyal Companion. It provides a solid boost to your Hawk gauge (+30%) as well as extra movement speed and damage.
Stat Focus For The Sharpshooter Dungeon Build
Unlike most MMOs, you don’t have to live and breathe Lost Ark to get the most out of it. Hardcore players that log in daily will get the most rewards, but Lost Ark has a few catch-up mechanics that make it much easier to play casually.
I’m here to tell you this: take your time with your first run. There is a massive world to explore. Hundreds of NPCs, quest lines, hidden dungeons, and all sorts of other secrets and places to discover. The endgame content isn’t going anywhere. I’m expecting Lost Ark to be very popular, so there will always be people to complete content with, wherever you are in the Anime game Money Guide. If you’ve played before then you’ll know all about the fastest ways to level up and which alternate characters you want to master first. All of this should come some way down the line if you’re a brand-new player.
All Shadowhunters build up the Shadowburst gauge by damaging opponents with their skills. Demon skills accessed in human form, known as Intrude Skills in-game, grant additional Shadowburst progress. Both of these class Engravings are viable, and it really depends on what sort of situation you find yourself in/what sort of build you’re going for. On the one hand, you have Death Strike, which focuses on a burst damage build that wants to maintain the extra damage debuff for as long as possible . The Loyal Companion playstyle is basically anti-burst – you don’t use the self-destruct and instead want to keep the Hawk summoned for maximum sustained dama
Guardian’s Protection – When you activate this skill, you recover 100% Shield Meter and release a protection aura of 10m around your character. Foes inside the aura take extra damage and are stunned. All party members take 40% less damage and are immune to debuffs and pus
Engravings are similar for the Raid build as they are Dungeons – go for Death Strike, Loyal Companion if you have it, and Hit Master as the recommended Combat Engraving to get first with the Sharpshooter.
On the topic of grinding, there is always a temptation to blast through content as quickly as possible in MMOs. I did this in the closed beta of Lost Ark as well as during our closed preview session with the game. The code arrived in January, and I’ve spent the last month leveling a few different characters as well as playing through the endgame content with the heavily overpowered classes that Amazon let us have a go with. From experience, I can tell you that this whole process is a bit daunting. It takes 10-15 hours for a very speedy run through the game. Quite a lot of the content feels unnecessary after your first run. The game can take 20-30 hours, or more, if you take your time.
Most endgame activities have a catch-up mechanic that will increase your rewards for each day you missed. For example, if you forget to run your two Chaos Dungeon dailies , your next Chaos Dungeon will grant twice as much loot on your next run. These bonuses typically cap out at five days missed, so weekend warriors and casuals can still progress at a smooth rate.
You can create custom fast travel points in Lost Ark with the Bifrost system. Located directly under your minimap, Bifrost is a mechanic that lets you save a location as a fast travel point for future use. This works alongside the Song of Return, allowing you to create a series of fast travel points to streamline traversal. You can increase your Bifrost slot limit by earning Bifrost Keys from endgame activities and by obtaining the Crystalline Aura effect—Lost Ark’s subscription status.
It’s worth making it to the end of the game, currently set at level 50. Lost Ark’s endgame content is fantastic. If the story doesn’t grab you – and it might not – then rest assured that your hours aren’t going to be wasted. The PvE and PvP endgame content is so good, and extremely addictive. Chaos Dungeons, Raids, and PvP Arenas make up the bulk of what you’ll be doing on a daily basis (a lot of this content has daily and weekly resets, which is why people play on alts). Nothing is compulsory, everything you do during your daily time with the game is rewarding and engrossing.
